Our MISSION
Pokeadot Hops is a high quality limited production Hop, vegetable, honey, Eggs, mushrooms, Homemade Soaps and bath products producer. Pokeadot Cabin is offering an agritourism experience to the beautiful 25-acre parcel nested up to the Cherokee National Forest in East Tennessee. Military combat wounded soldier, Michael Trost and his awesome wife Stephanie ensure a sustainable agricultural practice of growing the freshest and safest agricultural products.
Pokeadot Hops and Garden was named after our beloved Dog Pokeadot. She was a sweet and beautiful part of our family for 12 years. She came about her name as a puppy. We had taken her to the vet for her puppy shots and the clerk making her file asked me her name. When I gave it to her, she wrote it on her file POKEADOT.. She looked at me and asked “ Is that correct”? I looked at it, laughed, and said that’s perfect. She was forever our Pokeadot!
Michael Trost is a 32 year US Army Veteran. On Feb 20th 2012 Michael Trost was serving in Afghanistan. He was on a mission in the village of Robot 2 when he was ambushed by an Afghan National Police where he was shot 5 times with a PKM machine Gun. He was hospitalized for a year at Walter Reed having 35 surgeries. He returned home in Jan. of 2013 but had limited mobility as he could only walk with leg braces. In 2016 he returned to Walter Reed to have his right leg amputated. During the amputation surgery they used a 1/3 of his right foot and rebuilt him a hand. He was hospitalized for another year. Upon returning home after this long recovery, it was time to figure out life after trauma.
In 2017 We decided we wanted to launch a farm. We purchased the 25 acres in Madisonville and our dream started. We bought the land as completely raw land with no structures at all. What you see today has all been built since November of 2017.

TESTIMONIALS
Lane Steele Maryville TN
“Stephanie Trost is a blessing to others. She is constantly giving her best to serve anyone in need. I’ve watched her work tirelessly since 2012 caring for her husband (a wounded veteran enduring 32+ surgeries and amputation) while organizing opportunities for wounded warrior caregivers with The Yellow Ribbon Fund. She is most joyous helping a friend and giving of herself. Her positive attitude is inspiring and time spent with her leaves you wanting to follow her lead. I am excited for her farm to produce products (veggies, soaps, hops, honey, etc) so I can purchase locally, enjoy time at the farm, and especially see Steph (& Mike) regularly!”
